When you are looking for a person to help you with one of your largest investments – having someone with knowledge of the area is so important. Our zoning and tax laws are important whether buying a home in a neighborhood to a ranch or working farm. I work in three counties; Deschutes, Jefferson, and Crook, which make up Central Oregon.  I have found each county draws people for different reasons, wanting to retire and live in a more resort surrounding or wanting to be in a smaller Community to raise their children. I am interested in why you are looking at Central Oregon and your future goals.

Central Oregon is truly diverse geologically, a river basin, that is surrounded by mountains, rivers, lakes and desert all within a few miles. This is the “High Desert” and the climate from snow fall to amounts of sunshine is different depending on where you choose to live and work. You can choose to be surrounded by Ponderosa Pines and Aspen trees closer to the mountains or Juniper and Sage in a desert landscape. Your choices may be affected by what is most important to you, being close to the skiing, cycling and hiking trails or schools, jobs, transportation and medical facilities.

A little history; I had been in Bend Oregon only one day on vacation in 2001 when I knew it was where I wanted to live. I then moved here. I love skiing, cycling and kayaking our rivers and lakes. I moved from Albuquerque N.M. which is also a high desert climate, where I had lived since 1973, raised a family and graduated from University of New Mexico. I moved to New Mexico from Honolulu Hawaii where I was born and attended high school. You will find if you decide to explore the area, people from all over have chosen Central Oregon as their new home.
